Roomlers account management

“First steps:”

Creating an account is simple and free. We need some basic information, then you'll be asked to send your ID and school certificate (or employment contract for working people), which we don't share with landlords or anyone else. You can now submit a rental application!

Create an account

Here are our instructions for creating an account.
Creating a Roomlers account is easy and free. Go to http://Roomlers.com , click on the profile icon (top right) then Register and follow the instructions.
“You can register using one of the following methods:”

  • Your e-mail address
  • Your telephone number

After you've registered, we'll need a few more details so that you can submit rental requests. Please be sure to complete your profile as suggested when creating your account.

How do I send my ID?

When you wish to submit a rental application, we need to verify your identity. This procedure takes place after your account has been created and usually takes less than a minute. However, after submitting your information, you may have to wait up to 12 hours for it to be reviewed and approved.
If, for any reason, we are unable to verify your identity using the information you have provided, we will ask you to verify it using another legal document (e.g. passport).

What we may ask of you

As part of the identity verification process, we will ask you to provide:

  • Legal name, address and other personal information. Often, this information is sufficient for us to verify your identity.

  • Photo of your ID. This can be a national identity card, passport, visa or other legal document.

Having trouble? Try these solutions:

  • Check your messages: you may have received additional information by SMS, e-mail or telephone.

  • Authorize access to the camera: you may need to authorize the Roomlers application or your browser to access your camera. Still can't solve the problem? Try refreshing the application or page.

  • Use quality photos: take the photos in a well-lit room, make sure your face is well exposed and fully visible, and frame the information within the white borders. Using the “auto” mode enables the application to automatically take high-quality photos. However, you can always go back to take photos in manual mode. You can cover your head for a religious reason, but make sure your eyes, nose and mouth are visible.

  • Send photos of an intact original ID, not a photocopy: if the ID has two sides (for example, a driver's license or national ID card), send photos of the front and back.

  • Be sure to send a valid type of ID: we can't accept student IDs, library IDs, gym IDs, etc.

Booking a property: steps for beginners

Welcome to Roomlers! You can now travel wherever you like, but for a quality multi-cultural experience, these tips may come in handy.

Introduce yourself

It's tempting to jump straight into finding a property, but first things first: complete your profile. This will enable potential landlords to find out more about you when they view your rental applications. Don't forget to check your ID and include a profile photo: for some landlords, these are mandatory criteria.

Find your ideal home

Organizing a long-term stay is almost as much fun as actually being there. There are thousands of unique accommodations to choose from, all over the world. You're bound to find one that has everything you need to have a comfortable and unforgettable time.
When you're looking for an accommodation, specify your dates of stay and the total number of tenants (if applicable) to get the most accurate rate possible.
“For each accommodation, carefully examine the following sections:”

  • Description
  • Photos
  • Comments
  • House rules
  • Facilities
  • Cancellation policy

Please do not hesitate to send a message to the lessor if you have any further questions. You'll usually receive a reply within 24 hours.
Once you've found what you're looking for, all you have to do is submit a rental application. Each landlord has his own way of working: some allow you to book instantly, while others prefer to receive a request from you first. Find out more about the different ways to reserve a property.

If you can't log in to your account

If you have trouble logging into your account when entering the security code, please make sure that the code is identical to the one you received (no spaces before or after the code in the case of copy/paste). If the error persists, please contact our support teams at: contact@roomlers.com.
